Our toilets have come up trumps, winning acclaim for the quality and standards in the Loo of the Year Awards 2021.
Far from bog-standard, the loos in St Nics were awarded a platinum rating by inspectors. Flushed with delight, Centre Director Gavin Waller said: “Staff at St Nicholas work tirelessly to ensure our toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors.”
Aimed at highlighting and improving the standards of ‘away from home’ toilet provision across the UK, Loo of the Year Awards inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at sites across the UK, in order to judge them.
Toilets are graded silver, gold, platinum or diamond (with unacceptable toilets not graded at all) and are judged against numerous criteria, including the facilities décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
The Loo of the Year Awards 2021 Managing Director Becky Wall said: “The toilets St Nicholas Shopping Centre have been fitted out to a very high standard and are very clean and well maintained. The centre deserves its platinum award.”
