Two-Minute Silences for Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day

St Nics News

The St Nicholas Shopping Centre will take part in this year’s national acts of remembrance, with two-minute silences to be observed at 11am on Remembrance Sunday (9 November) and 11am on Armistice Day (11 November).

Shoppers, staff, and visitors are invited to join together in the centre’s main atrium to honour all those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.

“We’re proud to provide a space for our community to come together and pay their respects,”

“The two-minute silence is a powerful tradition, and we welcome everyone to join us in this shared moment of reflection.”

Both silences will coincide with commemorations taking place across the UK, marking 106 years since the end of the First World War.

Visitors will also be able to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, with poppy stalls and collection points available within the centre throughout the week.

The St Nicholas Shopping Centre invites everyone to pause, reflect, and remember — whether by joining the gathering or standing quietly wherever they are during the silence.
